Children Programmes
Creative Green Clubs that make environmental learning practical and inclusive.
Why this matters
Children, particularly girls, can lose school time helping collect firewood and may have few opportunities for environmental learning.
DORA’s responseAfter-school Green Clubs use creative activities to teach environmental stewardship while cheaper local briquettes can reduce the time burden of firewood collection.
What we do
- Green Club sessions
- Tree planting
- Waste sorting activities
- Creative art-based environmental tools
- Adapted activities for children with disabilities
School-going children in participating villages, including children with disabilities, and families affected by fuel collection burdens.
Expected outcomes
More consistent school attendance; environmental awareness; less time collecting fuel; future environmental leadership.
Impact
Green Clubs give children practical ways to learn about trees, waste and environmental stewardship.
